A delicious and important way to stay healthy is to make sure you get enough fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Sounds easy, right?
It’s actually surprisingly difficult for most of us – in fact, a recent Community Health Status Survey conducted by Interact for Health indicated that only about 18% of Greater Cincinnati adults got the two servings of fruit and three servings of vegetables per day that is recommended for a healthy diet.
Recognizing that easier access means more fruit & vegetable consumption, Interact for Health decided to start influencing behavior change within their own organization, for less than $30 per week!
Find out how they did it – read the Health in Action article here, and then come on back to tell us YOUR “healthy behaviors” Gen-H story here. And while you’re at it, maybe grab a piece of fruit with breakfast and enjoy a yummy salad or grilled veggie wrap for lunch or dinner today. Your body will thank you.
This article is part of a series of blog posts highlighting Gen-H aligned efforts around the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region, with an initial focus on healthy weight and healthy coping. Check back often for more great stories from local organizations and individuals!
