Gen-H Spotlight: Stair-walking program helps Interact for Health associates fit activity into their day

We love to hear about people and workplaces finding fresh and inventive ways to incorporate healthy behaviors into their daily routine. Leading by example, as always, are our friends and partners at Interact for Health, an area non-profit organization promoting healthy living through grants, education, and policy in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Interact for Health stair-walking postInteract for Health knows it can be challenging for its employees to fit healthy activity into the busy workday, so they came up with a simple but brilliant solution: since 2011, Interact for Health has offered a stair-walking program for its associates as part of its wellness program. Employees can opt to take the stairs instead of the elevator, logging their stair climbs each day, and at the end of the month there is a drawing for cool prizes. Who doesn’t love prizes AND making healthier choices? Win-win!

For more on the stair-walking program at Interact for Health, check out the article in this month’s Health in Action section of the Health Watch newsletter.
